Business Associate Agreement: An Example from Connecticut

This Business Associate Agreement (BAA) stands between the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH). In this example, the CCEH serves as the business associate of the DSS. The primary purpose of this BAA is to ensure that the DSS strictly protects private client data that it receives from the CCEH. Data-sharing between these two groups ultimately allows the state government to expand access to continuous, quality healthcare services to community members who may be experiencing homelessness.
